Colorado Springs

We made it to Colorado Springs last night around 6pm.  Love having family to stay with!  Hubby's Sister and Husband are fantastic hosts and we're all settled in for a few days.  We'll leave here sometime Sunday and head to Laramie for our next leg of the family tour.

It was 32 degrees when we arrived last night, which compared to where we're going is a heat wave.  Saw on the weather this morning that it's -37 around the area where we'll be calling home.  Cold, but it doesn't scare me...I'm ready!  or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Yesterday's drive was pretty uneventful, and that's not a complaint.  I would have to say that the drive was really, really, BORING!  Nothing of interest to see, just flat desert and dry prairie.  We hit Colorado Springs at rush hour, but even that wasn't too bad...just one area was slow and congested.

I really don't have photos as of yet, as it's difficult to drive and snap good photos at the same time.  Yesterday was more about getting here than it was about stopping for photos, not to mention there wasn't much that was photo worthy.
We're finally starting to unwind from the stress, and beginning to relax and enjoy the journey.  It's great that we get to see some family and friends along  the way.  It's like a vacation and a move all in one.  There is no rush to get to the new house, like there has been with our other moves.  There is no 26-foot U-hal, towing a car and no pickup towing the other car.

We are currently caravanning, with Hubby towing a small U-hal, but that will be dropped off when we get to my mom's.  Then it will be a caravan of car following truck...enjoying the drive as we make our way to Bellingham, WA.
