U-hal Day #1

U-hal Container - The beginning of our Texas to Alaska Move

Yesterday was U-hal Day #1 - We packed the container, that U-hal will ship for us.  While the container was NOT the size the website stated it was, we got everything in that needed to be shipped.

The dimentions that U-hal gives on the website for their shipping container is for the OUTSIDE of the container, not the Interior.  The only thing we had planned on packing into that container that didn't go was the bed.  Our full size bed was going to take up to much room, so we are opting to donate it.  

Today, we'll clean the remainder of the house, pack up the odds and sods that need to go with us in the vehicles.  I'll do one last load of laundry and pack suitcases.  The end of the packing is in near and I am ready!  

We're starting to flush out details of our itinerary.  At the very least we're looking at 25 days without a house.  We'll be staying with family some of those days and on a ferry a few of those days and the rest on the road.  We're really looking forward to enjoying our tip to our new home.  Stick around - these are just the beginning of the photos I will be posting on my blog.
